The AAT is pleased to be once again sponsoring the Accounting Technician of the Year category at the Accountancy Age Awards. This award recognises and rewards the important role that technicians play at all levels of accounting and finance.
The AAT is the world’s leading professional body for accounting technicians with over 110,000 members in 80 different countries. Its accounting qualification is recognised by employers all over the world who value the technical skills and expertise AAT qualified staff bring to the job. 55 of the UK’s Top 60 accounting firms choose to train their staff with the AAT. Accounting technicians work in a range of roles from account assistants to financial controllers and some may be self-employed offering accounting services.
The AAT Accounting Qualification is also recognised by all of the UK’s chartered and certified accountancy bodies who provide generous exemptions for AAT qualified students. Students who choose to study with the AAT rather than going to university become chartered much quicker than those who do a degree. The youngest person chartered accountant in the UK qualified through this route at the age of 20.
